Systems another problem to add to the list....

hi guys,

ok, i finally got my computer to boot.. configured the bios, and proceeded to let it load up win2k.... except just before it gets passed the 'loading' splash it gives me a nasty looking blue screen and an 'unaccessable_boot_device' error, asking me to check my hd for errors and check the power connections and ide cables. well, I know my hd doesn't have a virus because it's the same hd i was using before, i checked all power etc and it looks good.. any other ideas? is there something special in the bios i have to do to configure my hd and get it to work right?

any suggestions would be great.

ty in advance

p.s. the bios recognizes my hd, and win2k does begin to load.. it just can't get loaded all the way.

Is this a fresh install of 2K?

well.. let me clarify.

I was going to install a graphics card into my old dell computer, but the mobo didn't have an agp slot, so i cried for days.. no, actually i bought a better mobo with an agp slot (and a few other niceties. I also had to get a new case to fit the bigger ATX board, and I decided to get a new cpu while I was at it.

anyways, the hd and cd rom are from the old pc, everything else is new.

thathelp?

Changing MB's and throwing in a HDD configured with the old MB can cause problems.

Maybe this will help:

Is the HDD a Ultra ATA? You may need to F6 at the beginning to install the Ultra ATA drivers for your HDD.

Cheers!
