anyone got a PowerStorm 600 V-card ? Wildcat

Hi

guys anyone got a PowerStorm 600 ? its a Compaq Wildcat
I was wondering about something, its a 2 parter, one PCI and one AGP, and I was wondering whats it made of, is it the Wildcat 4000 and .... ??
the drivers say Intense3D 3600 Wildcat 4000

also anyone ever tried running 3dmark2001se on one of these ? I tried just for fun but it said "error 3dmark was not able to detect the required minimum features in the 3d accelerator" is there a way to get it running ? maybe change a setting or two ?

Thank you
Dan

Well, usually the Wildcat cards are not used for gaming. They are usually used in 3d modelling and applications like AutoCAD and all that stuff. So my take is that gaming performance will be very very bad.

OOOpppss!! Hehehe
Hmmm.. is the card DirectX 8.1 compliant?
Maybe this is why 3dMark doesn't run.!

3d Mark 2001 does indeed run on DX9!
I have DirectX 9 installed on my machine and I can use the old 3dmark2001 benchmark and the new 3dmark2003. Remember that DX9 is essentially DX8 but with added graphic features.

About the Stereo thingie, it probably has to do with 3D modelling stuff. They use this technique with 3d glasses.
"Stereoscopic imaging systems provide each eye with a slightly different perspective of the image. The software creates two slightly offset images on the monitor. Stereoscopic display equipment then presents each image separately to the viewer's left and right eye. The left eye sees a little more of the left side of the image, and the right eye sees a little more of the right side. The brain integrates these two perspectives to create the perception of 3D space and the illusion that the onscreen image has depth."

So maybe that is the function.
