Thinkpad 380D problems
K if you are unfamiliar with the 380D it is a low end laptop, running 2k pro.
I am not that good with laptops so bear with me.
I just got a Belkin NIC for my laptop and having some problems. First of all when I put the card in the port it detects it is a Generic PCMCIA Memory Card. I have uninstalled the device/driver many times and installed the driver from the cd alone but it wont detect it as an NIC. In Device Manager it says the device cannot start.
Im not sure what an infrared port is but that does not work either. It is telling me that the "IBM Thinkpad Fast InfraRed Port #2" is not working because it does not have the available resources in the BIOS. I do not even know how to enter the BIOS, and am not even sure if that has anything to do with the NIC I am trying to install.
A third problem: Is there any way to test if your battery is working? I am not sure how to charge it, I have it in the laptop and have left it plugged in for days but cannot start the laptop without it plugged into the socket. Is there anything special I have to do to charge the battery?
Hope you guys can help, Thanks.
