Systems HD problems... help please? Alot of sentimental things in there

If anyone could help me id really appreciate it

recently i just got a big problem with my NEW computer...
Its a Anthlon XP 2400+ so its a descent ssystem...

One day i just turned on my computer and i got the "NTLDR missing press control+alt+delete" so somehow i cant boot my computer. I have no problem taking time and research to fix the NTLDR and get my computer working again.. Its just im afraid imma lose all my DATA!!! is there a way i can save the DATA on my Hard DRive? I had alot of sentimental things in there!!

So i thought of this... im gonna take the HArd Drive that messed up and put it onto my OLD comptuer which is has a Duron 1ghz 256SDram so it isnt such a great system but itll get some things done.

What i did was plug the messed up HD into my old computer to see if i can access the files. But it doesnt work!!! it boots up and says "searching from boot record" window and it jsut freezes there.. and doesnt move.. can anyone help me please? Its very important thanks to whoever can give me any help.. its really appreciated

Both computers are running on Windows XP.

This is how i installed the messed up HD from the NEW computer onto my computer... I have pics below!!! jsut click the links

Welcome to TechIMO
Do a "NTLDR missing" search on this forum, there are many threads on that subject

To answer your question, make sure the drive that's in your Duron system is set to MASTER w/ it's jumpers and set the NTLDR Missing HDD to SLAVE by it's jumpers. This should allow your PC to boot from the original drive and then you can suck all the stuff you want off the other one.
