Change your "home page" popups

Occasionally I get these popups saying would you like to change your home page to:

"www.blahblahblahblahblah.com" Yes or No

They look like a normal "Windows" window.

I don't click yes or no.

I re-boot because I'm afraid no matter what I click the home page is going to be hijacked.

Kind of like clicking "unsubscribe" on a junk mail. You know - you get tons more of junk mail because your email has been verified as good.

Am I being too paranoid?

Bill

I ran Spybot and AdAware an hour before it just happened.

What was strange was the "X" was greyed out and couldn't close in the taskbar.

Popup blocker was on also.

Change your "homepage" popups

if these are messenger service pop ups .....then they are pure spam ................. it says "messenger service" at the top of a little windows dialogue box............if so pop-up stoppers will stop them but they will also stop legitimate pop up windows, on banking pages etc.

if it is messenger let me know...........i have a tweak somewhere in a mag that stops this rubbish for good.

btw the google toolbar has a built in popup stopper, it and the tool bar are excellent and free from www.google.com
