Gaming Wireless router IRQ Conflict

I have a problem. I am trying to install a linksys wireless G pci adapter. Model WMO54G. I have two other computers all ready hooked up to the router and working, one wireless, one hardwired. I spent 3 hours on the phone in the last two days and they have decided it is an IRQ problem, but can't tell me what to change. The card works in other systems but not this one. The computer seems unable to recognize the drivers. There is an ! by the card in the device manager. I have uninstalled 3 times and moved the wireless adapter to three other slots in the computer. If anyone knows what to change the IRQ to, it would be most helpful. There is only one other PCI card and it is a sound card. I have a acleron 400 mhz It is running win200 pro with AB-BH6 mother board.

Do you have a usb printer or parallel??
Anything like a serial mouse or anything on the serial port??

What you can try is..go into the bios and make sure the parallel port and serial ports are DISABLED.

No need to have them use up IRQ's.

Then reboot and see if it fixes itself.

If not sometimes you can use the "reset escd" feature in the bios.

You just set it to "enabled" or "reset" (I forget which) and it will make things look for irq's again. Sometimes that will straighten things out.
