as/400 certs?

Has anyone here taken any certifications for the as/400? I'm just curious thats mainly what I work on and recently I found out that they have some certs. for it. I already have my A+ and Network+, and since I don't work with any Microsoft servers at this time I ruled out going for the mcse. You guys think that would be a good idea?

Yeah I hear that same thing from people as well, but then again I hear the other side. The as/400 is already implemented by most local and state goverenments. I work for the county government which uses the as/400 for their tax database. All but 10 counties in my state uses the as/400 as well as at the state level. If it works why fix it? Also I've been told the costs for state and local gov. not to mention businesses would be very high to convert all the data from the as/400 (cobalt I would assume in most cases) to some other operating system.

I just figured since I'm working on one and that most likely I can have this job as long as I want it, then I might as well try to get certified. Worst thing that can happen is I might learn something and possibly my pay will go up.

I'd go for the certifications on it. If you ever need to get a job outside of the government, banks and some factories use AS/400's and I doubt they'll change. As well as some of the computer super stores like Best Buy.
