Kids Connecting a Wired and a Wireless Router

I have one question for the network gurus here....

I have two friends that want to share their network and of course bills of internet, they have the following setup:

A Linksys Router BEFSR41W that its hooked to cable modem and two machines in one house, and the other guy has a Linksys Wireless WRT54G with a desktop and a notebook in the house.

Can the two routers be connected each other with a normal cable?

What configuration I need to change I assume I will have to assing the different IP addresses to the router ex. BEFSR41W 192.168.1.1 and WRT54G 192.168.1.2, I will need to disable the wireless router because the wired is the one that has the net connection.

Im missing something

In answer to your question... YES you can hook up one router to the other... BUT...

Why not just forget the wired router altogether? The wireless router already has a 4-port switch for the wired computers.

The wireless router will be too far to get a good signal to give service to the wireless equipments if i replace the wired router, the rooms are corner to corner...... They solution would be an access point but he wants to have ethernet ports available, its the prefered house to have lan parties (no parents almost all the day).
