Ati 9700Pro of Ti 4600??

im looking for a new Video card to upgrade a gf3 ti 500 .. i do admit i have had a good time with my gf3 its a great card. now i want better im choosing between a ati 9700 pro/ or aiw and a Nvida Geforce 4 Ti 4600. i read the reviews on both and both reviews say they are the fastest cards the best gpu's etc etc etc

i compared the 2 cards and the Ati is faster but the gf4 gets better frames on some things. can someone explane this. if the ati is like 250+ and the gf4 you can get for 140ish why is the gf4 getting better frames than the ati.....

more people recommend the gf4 or atleast thats what they are recommending to me

whats the performance differnce's and which is all around better video card for gamming etc

i was looking in to the fx 5900 and the 9800Xt and they are too much. im not in a video card frenzy all i want to do is get good frames and sweet dvd play back ( i gots a LCD projector

9700 Pro by far! Or if you can find it 9500 Pro 128 kicks it too. The 9600 Pro/ Non Pro are alright but are limited by the 4 pipelines rather than the 8 as seen in the 9500 pro/ non pro and 9700 Pro.

No question on that. 9700 Pro or 9800 Pro over Ti 4600. The 4600 was a great card, but its older now. Oh, and I'd avoid the FX series like the plague.

Heh. Dputiger well said with the whole plague thing. 9700 if ya are looking to not spend 350$ if you want to spend mo' money then go with the 9800pro. Can't go wrong with ATI.

Can't believe I said that. 6 Months ago I said "Can't go wrong with NVidia." No look at where they are. HA HA HA

the Ti-4600 doesn't have DirectX 9 support like the 9700 Pro.

I'm actually in the process of doing the exact same upgrade, from a visiontek ti-500 to a ATI 9700 Pro. Mine should arive any day now... Max Payne 2 will be that much sweeter...

Not a bad price for the AIW card. The 9700 Pro should be around for some time now. It's a sweet card if you're into gaming etc. I'm more into my XBOX for gaming and had to part with my 9700 Pro Emc2 take care of her ....... for some much needed cash. But I loved the card, it ran EVERYTHING...

The AIW is a great card with tons of abilities, but if you ain't gonna use 'em they are still wasted cash. Take a look at what it can do and make your decision. You CAN more or less hook the card up to an elephant if you can just find a DVI-out.

Get the 9700pro...Then get a tuner card for the tV capabilities if ya want. The AIW I hear are not as good for gaming.
