Kids amd xp processors

ok, why is the amd xp 2800+ slower than the 2700+ and the same clock speed as the 2600+ and even the 3000+ is the same speed as the 2700+? WHF?!?!? that doesnt' make any sense, you'd think that with a newer model, the clock speed would go up? huh, go figure.

They come in all different flavors. different multipliers and fsb.
look at this CHART
Here is also another one that shows the different caches on the chips.

as for why they didn't change the number, well don't know.

the only thing different from the 3000 and the 2700 is the model number.. that i dont understand...

the 2700 has only 256 onboard cache and the 3000 has 512.

What about voltages? How do I know what voltage setting to put my CPU at?

in your bios there should be an "auto" setting for that . I have the Asus A7N8X-D board and it has auto on it. On my 3000 I think the voltage is 1.625 volts.

This is for the 1700 to 2200:
