A question about saving an animated text .gif file with Jasc Animation Shop
When ever I save a .gif file that I've done with Jasc Animation Shop it makes the text look all, black and large. Not at all what I want. Is there a setting that will allow me to save it as it is instead of nasty looking thing it turns into?
If what you're saving is text over a transparent background then you need to use a matte color. The matte color should be the same color as the background where you intend to place the gif file.
I can't tell you how to enable the matte color in Jasc Animation Shop because I'm not familiar with the product. But making a gif using a matte color is a very basic principle, it shouldn't be too hard to find.
When you save it as a GIF it's probably decreasing the number of colors and killing some of the shading that smooths the edges of the letters. You might need to use a custom pallette with just black, white, and grays.
