Best system for student

I am building a computer for a student who wants to play The Sims Line of games, and do school related things such as office. I am wondering if the following would be enough power, or should I go with an Athlon to keep the costs down? I need rock solid stability.

Abit IS7
2.4C
GeForce2 MX200 32MB VRAM
512MB RAM
XP Home
400w power supply
80GB hdd

Well, the question would be..whats the budget??

And that vid card looks really weak compared to the rest of the system....in that case a nforce2 with onboard vid would be better I think.

That, I can't answer for sure, they havn't really talked about that, just about that they need a computer, and I wanted to start pricing things up. As cheap as possible, but no too cheap.

Or maybe consider a sff system..you know, the new small form factor comps? That'd be cool for a small dorm situation...then all the chicks would dig him!

(Unless it is a chick) lol

in this case i would just get one of those $200 dells (they're P4s, not celeron). even those are quite an overkill for the sims and office, but with a deal like that, it's hard to pass it up.
