windows server 2003 install problems

My problems are:

1) during installation I get several problems with files that wont install correctly. it says to hit enter to retry and they always install after i hit enter.

2) during installation the reboot cant complete properly. it goes into an endless loop just after the first windows screen that says windows server 2003 with the indicator thing scrolling across the bottom. the screen goes blank and for a split second the screen goes blue then it reboots.

my system specs are (to the best of my memory):
abit kr7a-133 mobo (not using the raid ports at all)
athon thunderbird 1333mhz cpu
2 wd 8gb hdd
1gb pc133 ram (dont know the brand)
nvidia 32mb sdram video card
300 watts power supply

Does anyoneelse have these problems? how did you solve your problems?

Thanks in advance!

i would first make sure all the hardware is on the HCL.
next i would run that ram testing program everyone uses.
mentest86.
third i wonder if one of your harddrives is bad
fourth, do some other install, so u can eliminate
the possibility of a hardware issue.

Thanks! I've tried some of that. Will try the rest. Where can i find the HCL? I use removable hdd chasies and trays. I've put other hdd's in with win9x, winme, and nt4 installs on them with no problems. I have hdd's with current linux distros and placed them in with no problems. Prior to this install on the very same hdd I had win2k w/no problems and, prior to that install, winxp pro also with no problems. I used the same install disk and installed win server 2003 on my laptop with no problems either. So I guess looking at the HCL is the nest logical step.
