Bus speed for processor?
What would happen if I have a motherboard that is compatible with a 800mhz side bus but the processor has a 533mhz side bus?

Most boards that run at 800 have 533 and 400 mhz settings also

vass0922 is on a distinguished road
its compatible with 800, but it can run on many other FSB's normally

What motherboard is it, maybe we can help you verify?

It'll defaulkt to run at 533Mhz fsb, no need to worry.

Almost all bios' have autodetect, and that board will definetely recognize yer cpu as for what it is.

I thank everyone for anwsering my question not only thoroughly but with damn good haste. I have now ordered a new motherboard off of newegg.com, thanks again.
