Save data

I have a problem saving documents. It seems that this most recently happens; something I have not had before. I can get a document on my desktop screen and to save it I do the following:
Click file;save as;select my documents; type in title and hit save. It will go to my documents but when I want to retrieve it is says this page cannot be displayed.

what are you trying to save? what program are u using?

what are you saving it "as". As a word doc or w ebpage or what?

Seems almost like you are saving a web link or a shortcut or something.

You have what kind of internet connection? If its dial up, does it do the same when you are online or just when you are off??


right click to saved part and see what it says in "properties"..like where it says "type"..what is it?

Thanks for the replies guys. I am using Roadrunner; Win XP; HTML file as a title I am putting "Statement October 2003". Strange thing is this is Etrade but when I access Yahoo finance everything is OK" Wierd
