McAfee Firewall annoyance

I have a W2K pro and an XP pro machine connected to a Linksys router, connected to a DSL modem, at home. Everything works fine. Today I shared drive F: on my XP machine so I could see it on my other machine, which works. But now my XP machine beeps intermittedly, which I believe is caused by the firewall, cause it stops when I shut the firewall down. The intermittent beeping is anywhere from 5 to 30 seconds in between (Maybe when network packets are being sent?). The XP machine is the only one doing this. Any ideas?

Thanks,
-Dave-

is this a beeping from the computer speakers hooked to the soundcard or a beeping from inside the computer?

Reacting to what like a virus? The share? The other machine?

Shutdown the firewall?

I tried shutting off the alerts inside of the McAfee firewall, but that doesn't stop the beeps.

I can't imagine this software not allowing you to share a drive.

The thing that makes it hard to trace, the beep is a windows ".wav" file, but not one of the ones listed inside of McAfee firewall alerts section.
To try to make it clearer, you can choose what ".wav" file to play for different alerts, and all the files specified are different that what is playing.
