Reformatting - Do I have to???

Hi guys,

I have a computer that is partitioned into 2 drives already (20 gig = 2/10 gigs)

What I want to do is reformat the C Drive and change OS's. I want to go from ME to XP. Do I have to reformat both, and repartition and then start again, or can I just wipe the C drive and reformat and update that one and just reformat the other later when I clean it off?

Please help! Thanks!

You DO NOT need to format both. Just format the one you're putting XP on.

you dont have to mess with the second partition at all.

You can just format the C: from a boot floppy..or just boot off the xp cd and then in the choices you will be able to choose to format the C:

Just dont do anything messing with partitions.

What is on the D: drive..just data and stuff?

Also, you could simply rename ME to (??Winold??) from DOS, and then install XP..once you have got all of your "stuff" saved to XP or where ever you wish to save it (My Documents, etc.) and XP is running good..you can simply delete 'Winold' and the old O.S. "ME" is history.
