cntrl alt delete doesnt work or?

So i got XP....
ok so i press control alt delete and i get no screen at all i get a lil tray icon for my system resources and then it disappears. What i can do to fix this??

Looks like you could be affected with a trojan, virus, or a worm. Something that could harm your system because that is not normal. I got this a while back and it was a trojan that infected my machine and didnt let me use the ctrl-alt-delete tool or even uninstall programs. Check your system with an Anti virus and some anti trojans to see if your system is infected. HTH's

yea im gonna just say ******** and format my c: and then clean install of xp... thats my only option, norton wont run cause of the trojan or whatever i have and even though its a hassle i might as well do it... i have two partions, the other one (f so i guess im gonna format both and then do a clean install
