the ferrite chokes on my shuttle mn31n make a high pitched buzzing noise

so much for a quiet pc

just spreading the word on something that not many are talking about

the ferrite two main ferrite chokes on my shuttle mn31n buzz a nice high pitched whine

these two bad boys are the culpret

only when its idel

yes i know run a distributed computing program well i do but its not really only idel it still makes it with a full load but not nearlly as loud and constant it becomes more of a sound like my hard drive bearings where going the

waaaahheiiiiiiooooowaahhheiiiiooo not sure if that is really a good written description of the sound but hey cant kill me for trying.

for those of you out there with or another nforce 2 mobo and might not hear this noise over other fans times when it is more obvious is when booting into windows or when you open up mbm and its scaning your sensors

yes i have rma'd it once got a different board same thing and am now finding other people with this problem

any one else have suggestions as what to do or want to add to this discussion please do

i also wanted to add that people with the cheaper msi nforce 2 mobo said that they have only heard it with the atx 12v aka p4 power connector connected but they say there mobo runs fine with out it. my mobo freezes without that connector plugged in so its not an option for me

if you have never heard the noise and you have a quiet to near silent pc what is your mobo

i am thinking about buying a new one at this point
