512mb pc133 price?

hello my peeps,

i have some pc133 ram that my friend wants to buy from me and i was wondering how much you think i should ask for an alright price? he said that he can get new 512mb for $70. thanx in advance!

Memory is sold in varying density , like, "X4"..'X8'...'X16'

The really cheap memory is often very high density "X4".

MOST MOBOS WILL NOT SUPPORT 'x4' MEMORY

Some of the ABIT Mobos will.

"Augustus Tech" used to sell the high density stuff with a warning about this. Haven't checked recently. Google it and see,

But 512 at $70 may just be unusable high-density stuff.

Sell your memory for what its worth to you and don't allow yourself to be browbeaten by someone. The issue is a fair comparison with what you are selling. Quality and quantity.

check PriceWatch.com for some up-to-date figures...

I paid $50 for my 512 pc100/133 168pin sdram this summer...from pricewatch. it was old ram, from systems being liquidated at some company online.

newegg's sdram prices have been notoriously high. eBay has low prices too.

just checked pricewatch, and today (nov 3) they're selling 512mb PC 133 168pin sdram for $40USD.
if you're willing to make your friend pay $70, go for it...but know that a brand-new stick o' ram will only cost $40 at pricewatch.

It seems like 512MB DIMMs have been going for $40-45 on the Anandtech FS/T forum.
