Kids Mailaka Intenet

Does anybody have any experience with
"Mailaka.net" ?
I've seen it on "The list" of ISP's and it looks pretty good.
We are traveling a lot and so I'm restricted to dial-up and a nationwide ISP.
Mailaka has unlimited dial-up access for $ 6.95 @ month
and for $ 9.95 unlimited "DSL like speed. There are also a lot of access numbers available.
I have never heard of it before....

I would also like to know if anyone has experience with the mailaka ISP. At $6.95 for unlimited v92 basic service it seems to be too good to be true.

Yes, so far I haven't heard of anybody who is familiar with it.
I have not signed up with another ISP yet and I also feel that it's too good to be true. Hope that someone will still respond who has experience with it.

download

I tried to download this service but it never did. But I was charged $12 any way. Make sure it downloads and you can use it or they think it is okay.

I have signed up for this service. When you sign up they charge you for the rest of the current month and the following month. So If you want to keep the first bill low it may be a good idea to start near the end of a month. It appears they are a real company who go thru the same networks as the other major cheap services such as Netzero. When I asked if they had v92 support in my area (theuy didn't) they responded within an hour and well within their policy of 3 hours. They also sent an evauation form to evaluate their service. And they called me about the question I had. I did find that at some times my logon connection speed was slower than my other service. I also found that if I loggoed off and then signed on again 2 or 3 times that the signon connect speed would get better (i'm not sure if the sigon speed really matters). It is probably the network service they are going thru. Net result is that is problably not the best service but it is probably a better value the the other cheap services. I haven't tried Netzero so I don't know how they compare. On the comment about the download. You do not need to download the software to connect. But you have to setup yourself if you don't. I setup myself without using their email. Instructions for setting up is on their website. I perfer to use one of the free email services (Yahoo, Hotmail or mail.com) because they don't use outlook or outlook express which people can use to send viruses.

I've never used this service but i use access4less.net and they are 5.95/mo for unlimted with v92 they are pretty limited on actual dial-up numbers I think 2-3 v92 in my area and 2-3 more v90 in my calliong zone but I've never had any issues with service

Thanks for your replies.
In the meantime I have signed up with
Highstream.net.
It's $8.95 for "unlimited" service.
Actually, it's comes out to 5 hrs. per day.
I have no problem with that 'cause I don't spend that much time on the net.
All in alll, I'm happy with the service so far.
