Kids Setting up seperate desktops for tv and monitor on 9600pro?

I've got a Radeon 9600pro hooked up to my monitor and through svideo to my tv. Is there anyway to make them both have different things displayed? Like watch a movie on one and go online on the other? The tv is also blurry because I cant set the resolution low enough on the first display. Will updating the drivers help me to do this? I'm going to get them soon, but I cant at home cause I have dialup Have to wait till during the week for high speed access at college.

is it a 9600pro all-in-wonder, because my ati 9700 pro a-i-w you can set in a function in the start menu. you might look for utilities to do this from ati

it's just a regular 9600pro. There is 2 displays shown on the settings tab of the display properties. #1 is called multiple monitors and is what the monitor and tv are showing. #2 is default monitor. when i go to advanced on #1 it has all the ati settings tabs but advanced for #2 only has the normal tabs.

Update to the lastest drivers. remember, TV's only display around 320x300 or 640x480 unless you have a HDTV. Go to the Displays menu. Both the TV and monitor should be recognized. Make sure the "clone image" button is not checked.

i cant set display #1 to 640x480 besides i dont want to use that size on my monitor. I'll install the new driver as soon as I can get my laptop to network with the desktop.

for the part about doing one thing on one and another thing on the other, i was able to do it in the nvidia options. i had to set my tv as my primary display and set fullscreen device to primay. basically, anything that has a full screen option came up as full screen on my tv, and i could minimize it on my monitor. I dont know if yours has any similar options

well i am soooo close. i updated the drivers i also found that i have to set the #2 display to extend the desktop onto it. this makes the tv display #2 instead of #1 and also changes the page where you select which displays to turn on from primary and clone to #1 and #2. the only problem is the tv shows black on the dvd when it's #2.
