I'm running an Asus A7N8X-DX with a 2500+ at 3200+ on a 400Mhz FSB (up from 333), and need to replace my RAM. Right now, I use 2x 256MB of cheapo DDR400, at CAS2.5, but one of the sticks went bad and I have to reset my PC 5-6 times on boot before it will actually start booting. Long story. Anyways, I'm faced with a choice:
Mushkin Level II DDR400 2-2-2
OR
Corsair XMS with LED's
Price notwithstanding, which one should I fork over the cash for? I'm not basing my decision on pretty LED's or not, I just would like to know which is the fastest. I'll be ordering 2 sticks of whatever I get, for hot dual-channel action.
My system is:
Asus A7N8X Deluxe
2500+ 333Mhz FSB @ 3200+ 400Mhz FSB
BFG Ti 4200 at 275/525
Maxtor 7200RPM 80GB PATA
Audigy 1
512mb (2x 256mb) DDR400
