Win XP Pro boot problems
Hello
I have recently installed a new 120Gb HDD, migrated Win XP Pro from old 20Gb onto new 120Gb using Norton Ghost + XP Recovery Console. Win XP now working seemingly ok after a few probs, with 120Gb set as C:, one partition on primary master IDE cable, old 20Gb currently disconnected.
Problem is when I click on restart in turn-off options, upon rebooting XP hangs on blue Welcome screen and stops responding. Then I have to manually turn off and turn on again, this causes XP to go through a disk checker that says it's checking the consistency of the file system. After this check XP boots up ok. Seems like system file checker does something to make the boot into XP ok, but I can't work out what. Boot.ini seems fine, ntldr and ntdetect.com present and working.
Anyone got any idea on how to solve this booting problem?
Thanks in advance,
