Either the hard drive is bad.
Or there is no hard drive.
Or a cable is loose.
Or maybe a setting in the bios is bad.
Or possibly, for instance, they could have had another drive onthe cable with the hard drive but took the other drive off which would mean the jumper on the hard drive must be changed.
Have you looked inside to see if it has a hard drive?
Does one show up in bios or on the bios boot screens?
