XP firewall question

I looked at my internet connection properties and the "advanced" tab w/ XP firewall is not there.

Where did it go?

I'm trying to directly connect w/ IM and I can't.

(It's not the router, and I have already opened the ports).

Go to Network neighborhood, L click "local area connection", properties, advanced....you should find your firewall setting there.
If your behind a router (not hub) enable firewall there and you can leave your xp fw off
