CD Drives won't work

My CD-Drives, 1 Toshiba DVD, and 1 Samsung CD-RW SW248-F, recently quit loading when Win Xp Pro loads. They show up in the Device Manager with the yellow exclamation marks and can't get them to work.

They have worked in this environment for several months now and all of a sudden...no dice..

HELP!

Jeff

Go to the device mgr and check your IDE controllers. You may have to reinstall the motherboard drivers to get them to work.

I went to a previous restore point and restored...the drives work fine now...So I created a new Restore Point referencing the Cd Drives working. What would cause the Motherboard Drivers to malfunction?
