Your best bet for URL submission is to do it by hand. Simply go to the search engine and follow the links. Whatever you do - do not underestimate the neccesity of hand submittal to the DMOZ.

Many search engines are starting to ignore auto subs and if you use them too often you will be dropped for spamming.

another way to get added to search engines is something you already did... get your site linked to from a known large site i.e. techimo
