Help me!!!

I bought a Presario Laptop after basic which was about 3 months ago. Now, it worked fine up until a couple days ago but for some reason now, whenever I try to turn it on only the processor light turns on and the fan for the processor spins but nothing else engages. The monitor doesn't comes on and it doesn't boot. Anybody have any thoughts on this. I really need this computer to work because I'm 2800 miles from home on an island and I need some communication. I'm using my work computer to see if someone can help me out. Thanks in advance.......

if you have the manual look for the fn key there is a combination of fn and f keys that turn the monitor off and on. maybe you hit by accident. just a thought

i agree with Geobot. You might have turned down the display so its always black.

Does the HDD light blink in the begining?

No, the hard drive light doesn't come on. Nothing does, except for the processor fan and power light. I don't think it could be the fn/combo's because I would hear it loading the bios and system and the hard drive light would be coming on. None of that is happening. I'm hating this.

dont know what else to say.

I was thinking about my old armada that would do that from time to time. Try turning it off, remove the battery for a minute or two, replace the battery, turn it on and see if it will boot.

(I am glad that comps werent really all that popular back in the late 80's when I was in the air force....from what I rememebr from being on islands in the Med..I prolly would have just cold lost the laptop...let alone had trouble with it booting, lol.)

Anybody else care to comment. I really would rather get this thing fixed over here some how. I need my computer to survive.
