If I were to have a wireless internet conection (modem to wireless router) asuming the signal can make it next door about 10-15ft how easy would it be for my nebiour to get acess to my internet connection.
note I prefere wired for this reason and was just bored thinking of stuff and thought of this.
If you enabled encrytion it would help. No wireless is completely safe nor is hard-wired. By enabling encryption, it in theory rejects any attempted acces from anopther wireless device that doesn't share the encryption key. The more walls and the greater the distance the less the signal strength. No system is hack-proof just different ways of building a better mouse-trap.
enable mac filtering, and static ips along with WEP/WAP, and turn off SSID and you should be good to go, most stumblers dont bother with WEP protected networks unless they really want in.
