Video Cable Connected?

This is the message i get now when i go to boot my PC. Just prior to this i did clean the inside unhooked some fans to clean them out because they were full of dust. I did removed the Prossessor chip. Not sure if this has an effect on it. But not it won't boot up i jsut get this message everytime. the monitor works fine i plugged it into another PC works. The video card is fine plugged that in another PC and that works as well. If someone knows why this has happened please please let me know how to fix it.

Next time don't start a new thread. Just makes people agitated , like me.

When, during the boot process, do you see the message? Can you access the BIOS? What are the specs on your pc? Processor? Motherboard? Memory? OS?

Did you plug the processor back in the right way? Did you bend a pin on the processor?

Sorry jsut thought i would get any help. And i really need to get this up and running. IM can't get into the bios at all i son't think as soon as i boot up i get the Video Cable Connected? Message.

Its a Sony Vaio 1.5ghz, Model is PCV-RX550 Not sure of the mother board type,
Pentium 4 Processor,
512 SDRAM,
Windows XP

I was thinking when i took the processor chip out i didn't put it the right way back in. Is there a correct way it need to go in. Because i tried all 3 other ways and i get this continous beat noise. and when its in the way it is now. I get no beat just that message.

Whoa!!! Those processors and the socket are polarized, which means it can (or should I say should) go in only one way. If you look closely at the socket and at the bottom of the processor you should see the pinout and socket pattern line up only one way. if you forced it in the socket the wrong way there is no telling what may happen. If you cross a power pin with a data pin, you will fry the processor. I'm afraid from what you've posted that you may have ruined your processor.

What made you think you could stick it in any way you want?

Well with that said and done. I believe your right. So im thinking now i need to go buy and new processor. So im thinking now that can i put a 1.8ghz processor into my machine if it had a 1.5ghz. If so where should i go buy one like www.newegg.com
Also i put it in like that because im a noob at this stuff. i saw a square and i didn't see the pattern on the bottom. Also i took it out and i looked at the pins. I saw a few were bent so i straighten them out and it still didn't work. So i will get a new processor i jsut hope i can put a 1.8ghz in there.
