Optional ink cartridge? huh?

On this HP 3in1 http://www.staples.com/Catalog/Brows...e=1&SKU=493154

theres this line in the description

"or up to six-ink color (with optional HP 58 photo inkjet print cartridge)."

Ok, so it comes with an HP56 blk and an HP57 color cartridge..so whats up with the optional cartridge.

Is it just for higher resolution photos or what??

Thanks, JP

By the way the printer has a rebate till 1-4-04 so with a coupon it'd be $79.95ish

Staples has the HP 2110 color 3 in 1 multifunction machine for $129.98 - $20 off coupon: 97154 (exp 11/1) - $30 rebate = $79.98 shipped free.

hello.
maybe the picture of the product will help shed light on this subject.
do you think that maybe the "optional" part could be a higher quality ink cartridge? maybe they ship a standard cartridge out, and give you the option to pay a little more for higher quality.

just a thought.

Cartridge 58 (optional cartridge) is used in place of the Black cartridge (56) when you want the best quality photos printed on photo paper.

Yea, the 6 colors come when you use cartridge 58 instead of 56 with cartride 57.
If I remember correctly, 58 uses cmyk and 57 uses rgb.

Here is what Hewlett Packard says about using 57 and 58 together.
