The CD can hold 80 minutes of music. 80 minutes of audi equals 700MB. The max capacity of the CD is 700MB.

I have 73 minutes of music I wish to burn. 73 min < 80 min.

CD-Mate says that the 73 minutes of music an't fit on the CD because its greater than the 700 MB limit.

wtf?

80min!=700MB, 80min can equal 800mb for all it cares.
When you burn the cd in audio mode, the program doesn't care about the megabytes, it only cares about the minutes.

So you might've selected wrong project

It also depends on the size of the audio files you want to burn. Are they MP3s? did you download them from somwhere? You can use windows explorer or something to find out what the size of the music file is. It all depends on how it was recorded. 128, 192, 256? You can have an MP3 recorded in 128 and be 5MB, and you can have the same MP3 recoreded in 256 and it be 10MB.

Hope this helps some.

In no way can you make 73minutes of mp3 audio take 700mb Even with the max bitrate of 320kbs.

//edit: Ok. That might not have anything to do with the thread.. Sorry

Yes but if he's burning as cd audio then mp3 bit rate does not matter at all. Cause Cd audio dont have all that fomat overhead like lots of error correction and stuff it can hold more in what looks like megabytes then what you think it can.

Still don't understand this!

CD's can hold 80 minutes of audio, so why can't 73 minutes of audio fit!!!!

That doesn't make much sense..

Whne burning a Redbook audio cd, the file saze, the name, the bitrate DON'T matter. Only the length is a factor.

Well, I force burned the CD and told it to overburn. Obviously a 50MB overburn is not a good gamble, but that filesize is WRONG anyway.

The cd burned fine, and works fine. All songs play unitl end.

weird
