Converting a Box of VCR tapes to Discs ?

OK, the need is obvious if you have boxes of old VCR tapes and find editing out garbage from memorable stuff time-wasteful --and boring. Also, a drain on VCR.

What's the best Medium/Software ?

Ther are hardware and software to convert to CD-ROM.

The Co. that sells DVD X Copy also sels CD X Copy. Perhaps the DVD X Copy could also be used --to convert to DVD.

Experiences? Guesses. Suggestions ?

I'm also wondering how many 45 minute X two-sides VCR tapes can be placed on a CD-R or DVD +/-R ?

What happens to blank spots in the VCR tape ?

Anybody use SW and or HW for this with "tales from the front".

NEED SPACE in my closets and LR !

DOOG

You will need a tv tuner card. Ripe the video and use nero or a app like that to burn a VCD.

I did this with my parents wedding video(ahh too much fun it was on reels)

You don't need a TV Tuner card, just a card w/ Video In, look for a card that has "VIVO" (Video In/Video Out).

I have an ATi RageFury Pro VIVO That is available FS/FT if you're interested.

Yep... DVD can store about 120 Minutes in high quality. You can compress and do tricks to store more. I offer services to do such conversions. (VHS to DVD) if your interested in saving your self the time. All you need is. Video In... Via a Capture card or Video in from a Graphics card. Some editing software, and a DVD Burner and you should be set. If you have more questions ill answer em if I can
