DVD X Copy vs. DVD X ExPress.

DVD X EXPRess is being sold in two forms: alone; and with the original DVD X Copy.

Just how good is the Soft Ware for its intended mission?

Is the one-disc DVD in ExPress worth the trade off in quality of two disc copies in DVD XCopy (Original)?

DOOOG

P.S. The Company that makes DVD X Copy is suing to have some aspect of the Telecommunications Act or such declared Unconstitutional as it might personal copies of Software --on the Theory that a DVD is really software.

Any thought on what happens if the Courts stop its use ? I understand it's one of those proggies that require activation to be used. Another RIAA-type situation ?

I have both versions and have uninstalled the original and use the express. works nice and easy. Pop the original in and wait. pop a blank in and wait .... done.

never noticed any decrease in quality

No activation. Both are excellent but I prefer the XPress.

I recomend neither. Get what you want for free. I recomend DVD Shrink. Its free and does the same if not better job. Then just burn the Vobs it creates with Nero or other software. You can cut out extras and just leave the main movie or copy the whole disk. Best part I like is that I can put a lot of compression on extra featues as I dont care as much about the visual quality there and then leave the main feature with the higher quality.

I agree with Phenious on this, DVD Shrink is an excelent free DVD backup program. Unlike DVD X Copy which sometimes has to split the movie onto 2 DVD+R's, DVD Shrink can compress them to fit onto 1. Plus you can cut out some parts of the DVD, and compress some parts more than others to give the movie more room on the DVD+R so it doesn't have to be compressed so much thus giving you better picture quality.
