I know. You only have to look at the lawsuits against MS to see that the US legal system is pretty screwed up.
Things that lead me to my conclusion were:
1) SCO originally stated about SMP technology. They had to remove that bit when it emerged that it was actually Caldera (SCO) that had provided Alan Cox (an independant kernel developer) with the equipment and information to do this, and helped him along.
2) They refused to show any code, and when they eventually did, it was BSD code (Code that was stolen by Caldera and stripped of copyright notices etc, then inserted into their own product)
3) SGI has run a comparison of Linux and System V code, and has said, in an open letter that there are barely any similarities.
