Yep that's the symptom of the bad drive. I don't know what it is, (perhaps my cheapness

) But I swear they have some kind of self destruct in them. Mine go out about every 6 or 12 months.
Don't buy cheep refurbished parts!
The good thing is edlyn, that you can buy a floppy drive at places like Best Buy or Circuit City, they are more than 10 dollars, about 25 or 30 if I remember, but if you're not familiar with computer parts and stores it's better than nothing and faster than ordering online if you're in a hurry. Don't let the store put it in! You can go home and do it yourself. If you have a problem we can help here
