digital camera media brand difference?

I'm leaning toward a sony digital camera. The memory stick memory is so much more expensive than other cameras that use compact flash. I'm browsing through for a memory stick pro 512mb, and there are 3 brands that I found. Sandisk, Lexar, and Sony. The price differences are $23(sandisk and lexas) and $49(sandisk and sony). Would there be any advantages/disadvantages if i didn't go with sony?

Between those three, no. Keep in mind that there a only a few manufacturers, but lots of brands. So in all likelihood, you're getting the same card anyway.

Can't speak to the other brands, but I've been happy with the Sandisk modules that I have, and have had no issues with them.

Three words:
Canon.
Lexar.
Energizer.

Canon (The A70 rocks IMO) for the camera, Lexar (12x CF) for the memory, and Energizer 30 minute rechargeable batteries.

Hmm, maybe I went over my 3 words...

Get Compact Flash media. You can get a usb card reader cheap and be able to transfer files from computer to computer. I bought Lexar 12X, but it did not seem to speed up my camera that much (Cannon A40).

Helps that I have tons of CF cards (from work reclaim). Found a 256 meg card today!
