Win2k strange errors

I've been trying to install my system for days now but It's behaving very strange.

1 I cant copy/paste
2 I cant click on links
3 I cant move folders or files
4 Sometimes it wont boot at all and I have to install it again
5 It wont install service packs
6 I cant access windows update

The computer runs perfectly stable , I've run benchmarks for hours but it's still not working.

I've installed 2k like 10 times now .

This regardles if overclocked or not.

Just tried to install SP3 and SP4 that didn't work either
gave another error.

Could it be that win2k isn't comptable with my new stuff?

Asus A7N8X Deluxe
WD 36GB Sata drive
Geil 1gb PC3500 CL2

I don't think that those problems would be the result of hardware problems.

Maybe there is a problem with the installation media or process. You could always strip the comp down to the bare requirements and install it that way to see if it makes a difference.

Installed winXP pro and everything seems to be running fine now.

That happens when you're infected with msblast worm.
The worm doesn't always crash your computer, but it crashes servicehost - after which the mentioned things fail to work.

Yes Muno , I did get a lot of Svchost.exe errors
