Mandrake 9.2 -- Two more dayz!

Hello Mandrake Fans out there. A year ago I installed Redhat 8.0 on my system as a "newbie" and didnt like it. So i tried Mandrake 9.0 and that was better. Up to date, I'm running Mandrake 9.2 on both of my Pc's at home. I've tried a large number of distro's but most are not "for me"

This is a small survey to see how many ppl here at TechIMO are actually awaiting the public release of Mandrake 9.2 this November.

*cheers*

The countdown begins..

..

..

So does anyone know the time its going to be released?

.......

this waiting is taking forever!

please tell me, why the anticipation for 9.2 again? Doesn't it have the 2.4 kernel?

IMHO, I'd wait till a distro w/ 2.6 comes out...

2.6 is still in testing, so no, there isn't a distro shipping with it and won't be for a bit.

2.6 is on its final test version supposedly, it should go stable within the next 2 weeks. *yay*
I've been running it since test2, and its been great. I can't compare it to the vanilla kernel though, as I always had a bunch of patches in it. It runs better than my 2.4.20 one did though.
I think the likes of Gentoo will be the first to support it as such. But Mandrake patches their kernels to hell and back anyway. Its just now they might not have to.
Personally I'm not bothered about this Mandrake release, as I use Gentoo and I really, really don't have the bandwidth to download another set of ISOs on dialup. Let me know how it turns out though

So what's the one I d/l'd a week ago, a release candidate? Has anyone been running that one? I haven't tried it as yet so was wondering if it's worth installing.
