What software are you using to burn?

Do regular audio CD's work?

If CR-RW are they formatted?

Also, did it work before and then quit? If so, prob a hardware problem. Unless if you've uninstalled some cd writing software lately which can sometimes mess things up.

I've had similar issues with some LG RW drives and Nero under 2k & XP. Sometimes it would work a couple times, then stop. Sometimes it would not work at all once Nero was installed. Removal of Nero & installation of EasyCD (sux, I know) usually fixed it. Had to reformat once to get the LG working right again, but that was a different model. Also had to remove & reinstall the drive a couple times to fix similar problems.

Just a shot in the dark, that is though. Maybe a similar situation.

As it's recognised in BIOS and Control Panel, it sounds like a software problem...
Have you recently upgraded to XP, or changed your burning s/w ??
