two Ip's but need to split.. Help please

ok Get your Networking caps on!!
Window sNT 4.0 srvpck 6

I have two connections.

172.* connection is a Secured line for the computer.
192.* is the unsecured line..

we get all of outr application information though the 172 line but cannont get email though that line cause of port issues. We have a 192 lin that is an unsecured line.. I have these both running and can ping the gateways nicely. The internet runs through the 172 and so does teh email..

Is there a way I can make Outlook or Outlook express connect to the 192 line instead of the 172?

Before you ask the 172 is a VPN we get the internet from. They wont open the ports and told us to install a 2nd line to get our email.

ok so you have a VPN to site 2, which normal traffic flows through the secure line to 172.x.x.x

However, you want email to go out the 192 correct?

Are you connecting to email via POP?
If you're connecting directly to an exchange server, that means you'll have to leave open RPC ports on remote end... NOT a good suggestion.

Hmmm
If you type 'route print' from command line you can see which networks go out which gateway.
Theoretically you could edit that, but certainly not something you want to do for fun

Yea, a manual route addition for the email server IP is the best way I can think of too.

the email accouts will be pop and yahoo, and hotmail. no Exchange server

and yes I want the email to send and recieve the unsecured network.

as for the route command someone else suggested that I have copied the route print to him but I am at home and will have to wait till tommorrow to get that again.
