Kids I need help with My US Robotics 56k modem

I have a US Robotics 56K modem, its internal. How can I make disconect from the internet automatically when someone calls? Any help is really appreciated.

If your modem is V.92 compliant, you can get the "modem on hold" feature with a software from USR. Basically, your connection is paused while you talk.

I believe that the connection to your isp should also be a v.92 number.

check your isp's setup/dialup protocol to see if it supports this feature. AOL dialup has specific phone lines which support modem-on-hold.

you ought to try out callwave. it works as an online internet answering machine and takes calls while your online, then downloads them and plays them for you, all without having to get offline. it's great and the download of the message doesn't take very long even on my slow (26.4kbps) connection. it does cost a few bucks a month (like $3 i think) but it's much better then missing calls or having to get offline when people might call.
