Reformat from ME to XP - How?

OK guys, I'm back! Hehehe

Well, here's the deal. My friend is going to reformat their machine from ME to XP. They have everything backed up and are pretty much ready to go.

What I need to know is exactly how they do this, kinda step by step if you will. I don't want to send them in the wrong direction, and I have looked through google but can only find info for reformatting one specific OS, and now want to change it.

Oh, its XP PRO I think.

What boot disk do they need? And how do they get to DOS when it isnt in the shut down menu.

I believe if you boot from CD you should be able to go from there with no problems.
