DirectX 9 for HALO?

Hello everyone!

Ok, I downloaded the HALO demo...went to install it...says I need DX9 to do so. Should I install DX9? I'm on 8.1 right now.

Win XP Pro
Soyo KT400 Ultra Mobo
Athlon XP2000+
1GB Crucial PC2700
Albatron GF4 Ti4200P Turbo Edition

Etc...

Any issues with DX9? I don't want to install it just to play the demo, then have other issues arise.

Thanks!
Mike

There has been a lot of threads about 'how to GET DX9 OFF MY BOX"

However, I think the later version of DX9 (they're on DX9.0b I think now) maybe more stable. I've been running it for a few months with no problems

Good luck

I assume no responsibility here whatsoever for parts broken/damaged due to frustration or overcaffeinated knee-jerk reponses caused by teh faulty software

Yes, directx 9.0b works just fine for me, very stable anyhow.
Try this if you like to keep things like this for several pc's or next reinstall,(especially if your a bi-montly reinstaller too )
