TV Tuner Card

Installed a ATI TV Wonder VE card. I want to download a VHS movie and then burn on a DVD+RW. BUt there are limited directions on how to operate this card, any suggestions?

How do you mean 'download'?
Usually video cards that have video-in come with software that is able to capture the input. Don't believe, though, that any computer can convert to mpeg2 on-the-fly, so you might need to capture it in some other format first, and then convert to mpeg2 for your dvd-video.

I was able to save the movie to a file. The problem now is the file size. The movie was about 75% complete and allready 4.7GB, if there a compression software that workd well for this?

By any chance does your 'download' mean 'capture'?

Goto http://www.dvdrhelp.com and follow their guides in converting to dvd-video format.

I need a little more help.
I have the movie saved on my hard drive (type of file: ATI File Player)/The DVD+RW has been formatted but I am unsure how to save it to the disc. I have tried to use "Unlead Movie Factory V2 Trial Version) without any success. I assume I need to encode the movie and then save it to the disc as a DVD file, but I am unable to accomplish this?

Yes, you need to encode the movie to standard dvd format before you can hope to watch it on standalone dvd player.

For that, you would need a program that understands the native ati format (I'm assuming this is what you've captured to), and is able to convert from that to mpeg2.

I'll look for something... If I can figure what format ati uses. Best would, though be, if you could just post here what format you originally captured to.

//edit: It says at ati page that wonder ve can capture to mpeg and avi. (doesn't state if there's a native format or not).

So, probably your video file is mpeg1.
If the above is true, here are guides for mpeg1->dvd

Mad1. Save your self some time and capture directly to Mpeg2 format. This will save you time so you wont have to reconvert the video when you want to burn it.

C44151, Check the readme. They have some info on sound sync stuff. Most of it is geared with the Sound Blaster Audigy stuff. See if you have any luck there.
