How can i?
i have a Hp 7905 running windows XP. I know for a fact that windows 200 had the option of the computer turning on by itself. And i would like to know where i can go in XP so that my computer turns on at a certain time, or if there is any software to do this.
Thanks.
Carlos

Interesting...I would like to know that myself. I have found a program called "shutdown.exe" in \windows\system32
Looks like I will want to use the options /l and /c to opt for shutting down the local computer and force all programs to cease. This program will only let you opt for how many seconds until it will shutdown, and not let you opt for the time. So now to figure out how to use the task scheduler to run a batch program containing "shutdown /l /c"

Ahah, search for "create scheduled tasks" in your help and support, and from there you can create a schedule to run your shutdown batch program...more in a second, my system will be shutting down in about 30 seconds.

Oops, can't read! 2K will turn on the computer? I thought that had to be an option in the BIOS. I know you can wake it, making the suspend mode pretty much a power down which will shut just about everything down. From there you can wake it from the OS...

Honestly, i have no clue what you just said. in 2k, right after you turn the pc on, if you press F2 a couple of times a menu comes up. There if you go down it will say Automatic Power On. And if you set the time the pc will turn on. How can i do that in xp?

Hmmm...I don't have a clue! I don't have a PC with my 2000 on it right now, so I can't see what it is that opens up. And Microsoft's knowledge base isn't giving me the hits I want right now.

I don't know of anything that will turn a PC ON from a OFF state. The closesest thing I've seen to it is something like this...
This will turn your PC ON and OFF from up to 30 meters away. I really wonder why they made something like this though. For security reasons since it disables the ON/OFF and Reset button? http://www.auspcmarket.com.au/index....ode=CA-JCRC168
