Santa Cruz volume issues

Something's not right with my Santa Cruz. Whenever I listen to music on headphones, I constantly find myself lowering my various volume controls. I use my Santa Cruz Versajack set to analog out to my KSC-50 headphones (open-air, 60 ohms).

I use my Santa Cruz with the main volume at 1 and a half large sections (5 of them) and the wav volume at a bit below one large click. It is set to "Headphone [VERSAJACK]". I use Winamp with the MAD decoder (excellent, BTW) and I am right now listening with the above configurations and the winamp volume is at 9% (very low). The equalizer settings I have I enjoy a lot, and do not affect the volume. The "AUTO" button is off (I don't know what it does).

What could I be doing wrong? I've trained my ears to be used to a lower volume level of listening which combined with the fact that I removed the pads on my 50's practically eliminates ear fatigue. Still, this doesn't affect the volume at a huge level, although affecting it somewhat.
