CRT monitor are better than LCD for color resolution and that is sharper. Its even much cheaper and quite easy to maintain compare to LCD's, where you have to keep your LCD away from direct sun light and magnetic field.
However, LCD wins its round for portable and save space Wait till about a year or two, LCD monitors will come cheaper as CRT days.

For gaming? Benq, but realise that you cannot change the monitor resolution without everything becoming squashed or balooned. (think of a picture, then scale it, because it's not vectorised, the picture looks not good.)

LCD's are liquid cyrstal displayer. you can't clearly see the display if u bend the screen over from the side. yes, it saves space alright but you normally wont move or budge your monitor around all the time however, LCD are so good and useful for notebook (or laptop) users

That why im asking im moving my system to another room, and the space is smaller, and I have 21" that is huge and it doesnt fit well in the place... I can get Dell and Gateway LCD 17", cheaper than the market because here is a plant that manufactures them, They make an anual sale of excess inventory in December..

My 17" NEC seems to do well on gaming.
My 13 year old prefers it to his 17" CRT.

Some people say LCD's are good for gaming, some say they are not. Even when two people test the same monitor, they have different opinions. The truth is that it depends on the individual. Different people seem to see things differently. For example, I bought a Samsumg LCD a while back and I had to return it because I couldn't stand how it looked just scrolling down a page, let alone playing games. On the other hand, some people use the same monitor, and it looks super-smooth to them.
My advice is to find a store that carries the model you are considering, and try it out. That's the only way you'll know if it's going to work for you.
