gaim conversation alert

defintely my favorite instant messenger clone for linux but is there a way to get it to alert you when someone sends you a message? sorta like when you have a conversation minimized with aol instant messenger it blinks in blue. but with gaim you dont have a clue unless you have it raise on events which is horribly annoying.

can kopete do this? i havent used it in a while and dont remember. thanks.

What version of GAIM are you using?

I set it to do the "chime" sound when I get a message.

There is a message notification plugin. It can either change the window title of the IM window or put how many new messages are in the title.

ok, ill look into the plugin, thanks. not sure right now Scott Tiger, its the one that came with drake 9.1.... actually at the moment im trying to do the upgrade to 9.2 and the 2nd disc keeps freezing up the install. i hear the cdrom making repetitive noises that sound like the laser is stuck or something, and the md5sum is correct for the image i burned. damn, the upgrade seems to take quite a long time.

if it locks up again i might try another cdrom drive.

yeah thanks i already had the plugin, for that . just had to load it. it shows an asterik in the message try for whichever conversation you havent responded to which works fine for me.

wow, thats the last time i try to do a mandrake upgrade.(to 9.2) it hosed my whole install of 9.1 so i went back and stuck with 9.1.
